20 YEARS LATER: Still Struggling? Why that's actually good news

The Endless Journey of Personal Development
I have been speaking, writing, and thinking about personal development concepts for over twenty years. I also read books and watch countless videos on these topics. I've witnessed and collaborated with some of the best speakers. You would think that with all that knowledge, I would have everything figured out by now, but nothing could be further from the truth.
It's still a struggle, and it will always be a struggle. I understand that it's part of my journey, and I am always growing. Although I feel I have a good mindset, it could be better. Although I feel that I have solid habits, I fall short. Although I deal with my challenges quite well, I know I can improve. Although I feel that I have strong relationships, I know I can improve upon them. Although I'm clear about what I want, I know I can gain better clarity.
The bottom line is that no matter how much you feel you have your life together, it's easy to be pulled into human drama and emotions. Let go of the notion that everything has to be flawless and that one day we will all live in the land of utopia. I believe that excellence is the enemy of amazing.
Part of the joy of success is honoring the struggle—looking back at all the challenging experiences you went through and saying to yourself, "I still made it." That, my friend, is the essence of success—not a smooth ride.
