The One Question That Can Change Your Life

Life is full of questions. Some questions are productive, while some serve no purpose at all.

Tony Robbins pointed out that successful people ask better questions, and, as a result, they get better answers. Asking questions like a toddler can reveal incredible insights.

One way you can empower yourself to live an amazing life is to ask empowering questions rather than questions that keep you stuck. Many people ask questions such as why is it happening, why is life so challenging, why is life unfair, why is so and so this way or that way, or even why me. These questions leave no room for growth, and it’s easy to fall into a victim mindset when asking these kinds of questions.

The way I think of a victim mindset is putting all the blame and the responsibility for your success or your lack of success on other people or circumstances you have little control over. Fueling this victimhood are groups telling you that it’s not your fault. This could be marketing messages that tell you to take a pill, and everything will be okay. It could be a political movement that tells you that if you only vote for them, your life will be instantly better. Or, it could be a loved one telling you what is wrong with your life.

We have all felt that we are not living the life we are meant to live. Maybe a family member shot down our idea, or maybe you are bogged down by your current obligations and feel that the weight of those obligations is too heavy. Maybe you have some kind of fear that holds you back.

It’s time to take control of your life and your dreams again. This one simple question will help you get ahead and rise above your challenges. How can I get ahead? It’s that simple. These questions encompass a lot. This question is meant to change the simple word why into how.

My disability makes my life more challenging. There have been more than a few stretches when I asked myself why my life is this way. I discovered that instead of asking why my life is this way, a better question would be how I can use my resources so I wouldn’t feel that I’m not living the life I want.

My mission is to have as many experiences as possible. This includes collaborating with amazing people, marriage, raising kids, and not to mention stupid guys’ time. I also love traveling, seeing new places, and tasting good food. Whenever I have lamented about my disability, I have always viewed it through the lens of not being able to experience what I wanted. That notion motivated me, inspired me, and got me to take action to produce what I want in life.

That question alone is just a start. Practically speaking, that question inspires a series of questions, and the deeper you go down the mindset rabbit hole, the better.

It’s not enough to ask the question. The question is just a start. The true magic is to ask the question and do everything in your power to answer the question fully.

After you ask that one question, you must ask yourself a series of follow-up questions. What is the purpose of my life? What is the process of achieving a goal? What does that goal mean to me? What are the challenges that I will face, and how do I deal with them? Who can I collaborate with or ask for feedback? All these questions clarify the goals. Find a two-year-old toddler and watch how they ask questions about everything. Even though curiosity might have killed the cat, it is the bedrock of achieving amazing success.

The right questions can be a springboard to amazing success. Questions like how can I build a business that supports everything I want to do or how I can attract the person of my dreams can be life-changing.

Empowering questions force you to leave your comfort zone and rise above your current circumstances.
